In a bid to combat loneliness and enhance wellbeing among women in Chelmsford, two local mums, Katie Gauden and Kate Nokes, have taken the initiative to launch a life coaching and wellness programme, aptly named "Belong". This commendable endeavour, funded by the National Lottery, is designed to address the prevalent issues of identity loss and mental health struggles that many women face.
The Belong programme aims to provide women with a platform to form friendships and foster a sense of local community. It encourages personal growth through life coaching and offers opportunities to engage in new activities that could potentially evolve into community-building hobbies.
Katie Gauden, co-creator of Belong, emphasised the programme's objectives, saying, "The end goal is for participants to complete the course feeling more positive about themselves and better supported and equipped to live life to the full."
The programme is not just about immediate benefits. It also plans for the future by recruiting a Belong Ambassador from each group to encourage ongoing activity and friendship among the group even after the programme concludes.
Participants can look forward to a variety of activities, including mindfulness, EFT, an Art & Sip session, self-defence, fitness, yoga, vocal coaching, and a Nutritionist & Menopause session. The inaugural 12-week Belong Programme will commence on Monday, January 13, at the Angel Pavilion Hall attached to the Cheerful Chai Coffee Shop in Broomfield.
With only 15 places available for each programme, and part Lottery-Funded, the cost is significantly reduced, making it more accessible for those who need it most.
