In a historic moment for Chelmsford and the wider Essex community, Beaulieu Park School, part of the Chelmsford Learning Partnership, has opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 12 students. This significant milestone marks the school as Essex's first all-through free school, offering education to students aged 4 to 18.
Currently accommodating a total of 1500 students, the school is set to expand even further. A £3.15m two-story Sixth Form centre, due to open in September 2025, will provide space for an additional 200 students. This expansion aligns with the opening of an additional satellite primary school site, ensuring the school can meet the demand for 120 reception places each year.
Beaulieu Park School first opened its doors to reception and primary pupils in 2018 and welcomed its first secondary school student cohort the following year. The school now provides 570 places for local children aged 4 to 11, and 930 places for those aged 11 to 16.
James Donaldson, Executive Headteacher at the school, expressed his pride in offering Essex's first free all-through education. He emphasised the school's commitment to creating an inspiring environment for every student, nurturing their abilities to ensure they reach their full potential.
Echoing Donaldson's sentiments, Paul Banks, Chief Executive Officer at the Chelmsford Learning Partnership, stated that Beaulieu Park School represents a significant milestone for the Chelmsford and wider Essex community. He added that the school embodies the trust's commitment to providing an exceptional, seamless education journey from early years to Sixth Form.
As Beaulieu Park School continues to grow and develop, it's clear that it's setting a new standard for education in Essex. With its commitment to providing a high-quality, all-through education, the school is poised to shape the educational journey of many students in the years to come.
