Foodies Festival Returns to Chelmsford

The highly anticipated Foodies Festival, often dubbed the "Glastonbury for Foodies," is making its grand return to Hylands Park, Chelmsford, from June 21 to 23. This year’s festival promises to be a spectacular event, featuring a star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs and chart-topping music stars.

The festival will be graced by performances from multi-platinum selling boy band Blue, the Westlife and Boyzone supergroup Boyzlife, and the exhilarating Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra. These musical acts will set the stage for a weekend of culinary delights and entertainment.

Known as Gastro-Glastonbury, the three-day event will showcase live cooking demonstrations from TV celebrities and chefs from MasterChef, Great British Bake Off, and Great British Menu. Essex-born MasterChef: The Professionals champion Alex Webb, MasterChef champions Thomas Frake and Dhruv Baker, and Great British Bake Off contestant Dana Conway are just a few of the culinary stars set to appear.

Alex Webb expressed his excitement, saying, “I'm really looking forward to the Foodies Festival tour, it’s my 3rd year in a row, and I’m glad to be returning! I can’t wait to celebrate the local food and drink in the region. I’ll be cooking some of my favourite dishes, such as Lobster Toast and Chilli Jam, as well as some classics from MasterChef!”

Duncan James from Blue added, “We’re all looking forward to visiting Chelmsford with the Foodies Festival tour this year. The crowd is always buzzing and up for a great day and night out! A definite highlight is the lovely food from around the world. We’ve enjoyed some amazing dishes on previous visits and can’t wait to try some more!”

The festival will also feature Michelin-starred Chef-Patron Jeff Galvin from Galvin Green Man, Chelmsford, and two-time Essex Chef of the Year, Paul Wendholt. Visitors can expect a jam-packed schedule of interactive live theatres, including the Chefs Theatre and Cake & Desserts Theatre, where celebrities will create their signature dishes and share new tips and tricks.

For families, the Kids Cookery School will make cooking fun for younger guests, helping them prepare delicious food to take away. The Shopping Village and Artisan Market will showcase the latest food trends and local producers, while the Feasting Tent will offer a mouth-watering range of street food from around the globe.

Day tickets start at £4 for children and £21 for adults, with under-sixes going free. Weekend tickets are available from £42. The festival is also supporting Musicians Against Homelessness (MAH), with ticket sales helping to raise money for the UK-wide homelessness charity Crisis.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic event that celebrates the best of food, music, and community spirit in Essex!
